How LendingClub checks financial information

Primary sources, visible assumptions and page-level corrections keep decision support separate from unsupported marketing claims.

LendingClub provides independent decision support and planning tools. We are not a lender and do not make credit decisions.

LendingClub financial content is written as decision support. The editorial goal is to separate verified facts from assumptions, calculations and provider-specific terms.

Source priority

Material legal, regulatory and product claims should rely first on statutes, regulators, official license records and current first-party provider disclosures. Reputable secondary sources can add context but do not replace a primary source when one is available.

Examples are labeled

Payment, fee and APR examples are illustrative unless an actual provider offer is explicitly identified. An example amount, rate or term must not be presented as a guaranteed product.

Calculations

Calculator explanations show the formulas and assumptions used in each tool. Review those assumptions before comparing an estimate with a provider’s terms.

State information

State law, regulator guidance and live provider availability are separate facts. State pages should not imply that a provider is available merely because a product is lawful under a state rule.

Corrections

Corrections apply to the affected statement, calculation or source on the relevant page. Financial rules and provider disclosures can change; check the linked source and your provider’s current terms before making a decision.

Commercial independence

The information on this website is not a credit offer. No lender is selected for you, and illustrative calculations do not establish eligibility or approval.

Reproduce a calculation

Each interactive estimate keeps its assumptions next to its result. The two-scenario comparison uses the same cash received, increases the principal when a fee is deducted, and shows monthly payments and total repayment separately. The copyable text includes the inputs and model limits.

The timing planner excludes income arriving on the repayment date because deposit and debit order can differ. The advance-cost tool adds entered charges; it does not calculate credit-card daily interest. The California example uses check amount rather than treating that amount as cash received.

What a source establishes

A regulator’s general explanation supports the subject it covers. It does not verify a particular provider, certify this website, establish an available offer or review an individual calculation. Provider terms must be checked against the provider’s own current disclosure.

When to recheck

Check the linked official source again before relying on a state limit, license status or payment-plan rule. Recalculate whenever any amount, rate, fee or date changes. A source’s publication date and the date you access it are different facts.

Reporting and keeping a correction record

Keep the page address, relevant passage, example inputs and supporting source. Use the contact form for website corrections. Do not include account passwords or full identity numbers.

Publication and corrections

Content is published under the LendingClub brand rather than individual author bylines. Assess each guide through its stated purpose, sources, examples and calculation assumptions.

Send a correction to [email protected] with the page address, relevant passage and supporting source. For a tool issue, include the example inputs and expected result without personal financial identifiers.

Further checks for this decision

When reading an example, distinguish the interest rate from APR, which reflects additional fees.1

Check whether an application discussion distinguishes hard inquiries from soft inquiries.2

For state claims, start with the regulator directory and recheck the current agency source.3

Consider financial-relationship disclosures when assessing product recommendations.4
